Crosswalks in Lake Eola topic of quarterly meeting

Share on:

Lake Eola Heights Historic District held its third quarterly meeting on Aug. 8. City Commissioner Patty Sheehan discussed the improved crosswalks on Summerlin and Washington, complete with new flashing lights. On Aug. 31 at 1p.m., they will be painting a herringbone pattern of swans on the crosswalk to incorporate Lake Eola.

The meeting included Billy L. Hattaway, director of the transportation department for the City of Orlando. Hattaway spoke about educating people about crosswalks and installing data collection on Livingston to learn traffic patterns and peaks of drive time.

The Robinson road diet/project will get started in 2023, at the earliest. Kristin Kulik, the new general manager of Eola General, was in attendance and asked the neighborhood to weigh in on items to carry at the store. Kulik wants neighbors’ suggestions. You can email her at kristin@eolageneral.com or stop by the store.
