So many of you enjoy taking your furry four-legged friends to the Constitution Green Dog Run. We love the recent changes that the City of Orlando parks staff worked so hard to implement in this area. Thornton Park District is excited to announce that we are putting on a fundraiser to purchase dog-play equipment for the dog run.
The parks staff has approved different models that would be appropriate for the area, and we are going to have those who attend the fundraiser vote on which equipment you would like to see there. So, join us at Constitution Green on Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with your pups for a fun time.
Congratulations to the Thornton Park Neighborhood Association for throwing another successful taste of Thornton Park.
It is a great blend of neighborhood restaurants and a few other outside businesses sprinkled in.
We would like to congratulate all the TPD businesses that won awards for Best of Taste. Dexter’s, Novelty, Jinya and Maxine’s on Shine.
TPD is working on getting more cigarette-butt disposal containers around the district. If you have noticed in the neighborhood an area that you believe may need one, please send us an email at ThorntonParkOrlando@gmail.com.
Exciting news: TPD is getting a brewery. The new owners of EO Inn have sealed the deal with Persimmon Hollow Brewing Company. They will be taking over the vacant 4,800 square feet of restaurant space as well as the 1,100 square feet of patio space. The EO Inn team feels that they are a perfect fit and fall into their goals and ideas of keeping true to Downtown Orlando and the neighborhood.
Mark your calendars for November’s Thornton Second Thursday Wine and Art Walk. It takes place on Nov. 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fun night of art, music and luscious libations is only $10 presale for over 25 places to stop. And, yes, we love your pooches, so please bring them with you. This month, the event starts at Burton’s Bar located at 801 E Washington St.
