Fall has finally come to Central Florida, and that means we begin to look forward to the holidays and the holiday decorations that light up our homes and neighborhoods. The Lake Lawsona Fern Creek Neighborhood celebrates this time of year by decorating the historic Washington Street Bridge and by floating a lighted “Christmas Tree” on Lake Lawsona.
Our 2019 lighting celebration is planned for Dec. 1 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the bridge on Washington Street. Residents and guests are invited to participate in this small celebration at the bridge and then to walk together to Lake Lawsona Park where we will have refreshments and light the floating tree in the middle of Lake Lawsona.
If you live in the surrounding area and want to enjoy this event, please stop by. All are welcomed. Bring some cookies to share at the celebration at Lake Lawsona Park. Washington Street will be closed at the bridge for a couple of hours for everyone’s safety.
The association also continues work on the March 2020 Private Gardens of Historic Orlando event and encourages neighbors that want to feature their backyard gardens to contact Jeff Smith at to sign up to participate or to get more information.
