The Lake Lawsona / Fern Creek Neighborhood Association enjoyed their summer social at Thornton Park’s Falcon Bar on Aug. 7 and enjoyed fellowship along with adult beverages and pizza provided by Anthony’s Pizza. Neighborhood resident and Falcon Bar owner Melissa Schuman sponsored the event.

Reeves Terrace celebrated their back-to-school supplies/backpack event Aug. 9, which was sponsored by the Carroll Adams Group. This event celebrated its 15th year of supporting students living in this housing community located within our neighborhood. Orlando District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan participated with other volunteers in support of this program.

The Lake Lawsona / Fern Creek Neighborhood Association are looking forward to partnering with Green Up Orlando on Sept. 14 to work on sprucing up the Dickson Azalea Park by removing invasive plants, trimming plants and putting down mulch.

Volunteers should RSVP via Lake Lawsona’s Facebook Group or by emailing Keep Orlando Beautiful Coordinator Jody Buyas at jody.buyas@cityoforlando.net to make sure enough water and tools for the cleanup are provided. Attendees will meet at 100 Rosearden Drive at 9 a.m. and work until 11:30 a.m. All residents are invited to participate.
