Shop Locally this Summer
As summer temperatures heat up and residents hunker down in front of their air conditioners or head for cooler climates, local businesses see a dip in sales and patronage. It’s a challenge each one approaches differently, but they all have one thing in common: appreciation for the support they get from the community.
Local businesses are owned by our friends, neighbors and community members. They contribute to the vibrancy and diversity of our main streets, and they need your support this summer. Think of your neighborhood businesses first when deciding where to eat, drink, shop and spend time this summer, and follow the Milk District on social media to stay up to date on events and promotions this summer and throughout the year.
Sip and Savor
Many Milk District restaurants are participating in Sip and Savor, running from Aug. 5 to Aug. 18. These local businesses are offering a prix fixe menu or special items these two weeks, inviting you to come out and give them a try (or revisit a favorite spot). Participants include À La Cart, Dixie Dharma, MX Taco, Sportstown Billiards, Stasio’s Italian Deli, among other Orlando eateries.

Creating a better community through volunteering
The Milk District looks to members of our community to help guide our development and programming. Volunteering has a huge impact on our community. In addition to event volunteers and contributing professional services, anyone can apply to join a committee focusing on physical improvements in the neighborhood, promotions and events or business support.
The only qualification is a love for the neighborhood and the wish to help make it better. Please reach out to me at email@example.com to get involved.
