Mosaic Hair Studio to open in Milk District

Mosaic Hair Studio and Blowout Bar has outgrown Ivanhoe Village.

They have opted to open a second studio in the Milk District to expand. Mike Van den Abbeel, co-owner of Mosaic, said he opted to move to the Milk District because of its walkability and bike-friendliness. He also mentioned the benefits of being in the Orlando Main Streets Program.

“I love Main Street Districts, and the Milk District is very active,” he said.

The building located at 200 N Bumby Ave. was once a daycare, which follows the trend of repurposed buildings in the Milk District. James Cornetet, the same architect who designed the Mosaic renovation in Ivanhoe, was hired to design the Milk District hair studio.

“We decided to renovate because it enhances the neighborhood,” Van den Abbeel said. “James loves taking something old and worn and making it fresh.”

Van den Abbeel said he aims for the location to open by the end of the year.
