After more than two years in a stadium with a generic name, Orlando City Soccer Club has sold the naming rights of their stadium to Exploria Resorts. What was Orlando City Stadium on Church Street is now Exploria Stadium.
Exploria Resorts is based in Clermont, Florida, and is a timeshare company that also offers vacation rentals. The company has locations in Florida, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Tennessee.
“As a club based in the most visited city in the world and one that has fans who support our teams around the globe, we are excited to partner with a Central Florida based company that provides world-class travel and hospitality experiences to its visitors,” Orlando City SC CEO Alex Leitão said in a press release.
The soccer-specific stadium has hosted Orlando City matches, Orlando Pride matches and various other events throughout its short history, including World Cup qualifying matches for the United States Men’s National Team. The stadium is scheduled to host the 2019 MLS All-Star Game against Club Atlético de Madrid on July 31 and the Cure Bowl (the first non-soccer event in the venue) in December.
