TPD prepares for holiday events, candle shop opens on Summerlin

Artifact Candle Foundry has officially opened their doors located at 2 N Summerlin Ave.

This shop specializes in custom-made organic soy candles. You can also make them yourselves, a great idea for private parties.

Next time you are taking a stroll down East Washington Street, take a look at the newly installed swan ornaments installed on the planters. They go quite nicely with the TPD Swan Crosswalk recently installed on the Washington and Summerlin intersection.

Thornton Park District is looking forward to sponsoring the Richard Ulmer fundraiser Annual Slinging for Santa. This event has helped raised funds to bring Christmas Eve to almost 1,000 local Orange County families for the past four years. This non-profit focuses on families in need whose children attend Howard Middle School and OCPS ACE Middle School.

With a full staff of celebrity bartenders, including Mayor Buddy Dyer himself, this evening brings lots of laughs while also raising money to bring joy into the homes of our local students and their families on Christmas Eve.
