Orlando Gifted Academy

Two of Orlando Gifted Academy’s Odyssey of the Mind teams represented the school at the state competition. The third-grade team will head to the World Finals competition.

Howard Middle School

Ten digital-art students placed at the county level for video packages in the Orange County Student Media Festival. This is the school’s most wins in a single year, and all five videos will be going on to regionals.

Orlando Gifted Academy

OGA will now be 2nd through 6th grade for the 2019-2020 school year. This school year was the its inaugural year for children between 2nd through 5th grade. This addition is paving the way for the next three years to help the school serve middle school grade-levels.

Lake Highland Preparatory School

LHP’s wrestling team came in first place at the 2019 Class 1A FHSAA State Championships. Five student-athletes earned individual state championships as well.

The Edgewater Chorus experienced the trip of a lifetime last month as they traveled to New York City to perform and get in a little sightseeing. “The best part was watching the bond among the students,” principal Mark Shanoff said.

Memorial fund to honor student killed

EHS student Starr Elisala was tragically killed following a motorcycle accident March 2, 2019. Starr loved her school, her friends and especially being a part of the theater department at Edgewater.
